About the Author

Griselda Cavazos was born in 1965 in Matamoros Mexico. Growing up in Houston in the public school system in the Seventies was not easy. Growing up one of 11 siblings and growing up underprivileged with a name like Griselda made it much more difficult for her. Growing up with such a different name was difficult because many children made fun of her and her name, calling her names such as “grizzly, and greasy Griselda made it difficult to make friends. One teacher even made fun of her last name calling her Cavazty, Griselda. In middle school, she ended up changing her first name to Kris. This helped her get along better with the kids and teachers. She always wanted to be a journalist and an author, but being poor throughout her school years and into high school, that plan did not work out. She attended community college for two and a half years collecting college credits towards pursuing a career in human resources administration. She spent her adult life managing Human Resources and administering payroll and employee benefits. She now enjoys time with her husband, Dave, and their small dog Kayla, and she writes her stories. She now enjoys spending more quality time with her granddaughter, named -of- course Zoë.
